Asteroid Hauling in Miriani

I've been playing this game for a few days, and wish to try my hand at asteroid hauling. I own a roid hauler, space suit, and astroid kit. Also, I am using Monkeyterm and the Miriani sound pack. The help file suggests I use the "star map" feature to locate asteroids, once I'm in uncharted space. Can anyone offer hints on how to make sense of this map using JAWS? If there is an alternative, such as long-range scan, what else do I need in order to use it? Thanks for any suggestions.

Miriani has lost its appeal, honestly.
but if you type sight, I think it is, the starmap will then be easier to read.

ColdShadow, thanks for the suggestion. the "sight" command works as you indicate. I don't see the command documented anywhere. What other undocumented commands are there? LOL.

Most of the commands are actually documented. I think that one just slipped through the cracks.
For roiding, go to a sector that you can roid from, then use the z-axis and go in a ... sort of spiral up or down depending on the direction you go. You do this manuallly. When I roided, which I haven't in a while, because I find it quite boring, I used the following pattern:
8 4 2 +6 8 4 2 6
then went back to auto pilot, and went to 1 1 1 . repeat process. (I always went up. You can change it slightly if you want to travel down instead, but for the most part the concept applies.

It's a mud. Check out www.toastsoft.net for basic game info.

I've put together a guide on asteroid hauling, based on the method I use. I've also written a command index. I surely don't have every command in the game documented, but it's a good start for newbies. If anyone wants either of these documents, feel free to contact me.

Thank you all, I've been prosperously roid-hauling for many hours, now. It's time I got a faster ship, methinks. Been looking for the "upgrade store".

IMHO, a slip drive and relativity upgrade are the 2 things you need for upgrades on a roider.
